West Palm Beach, Florida Not the Safest Place to Live Says Forbes

After Hurricane Katrina, Forbes Magazine and Sperling´s Best Places, a data collection agency, teamed up to find the safest places to live in the country. "Weather and disaster data for 331 metropolitan statistical areas in the U.S." was used for the ranking.

The conclusion: There is no 100 percent safe place to live. "Every location in the country is exposed to one disaster or another." However, West Palm Beach, Florida was ranked one of the least safe city´s to live because it "gets smacked regularly with hurricanes," which scientists predict will only increase as global warming gets worse.

Tropical storms and heavy rains also expose West Palm Beach, Florida to flooding, "the most potentially damaging natural disaster."
